Cancun, Mexico

Hola and welcome to my last stop in Mexico, Cancun! Cancun is the hub for most destination in the Yucatan. I originally flew into Cancun and ventured to Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Before my departure I decided to spend five days in Cancun to recharge. Although Cancun is a party city that often reminds me of Destin, Florida due to the college Spring Break vibe it gives I enjoyed relaxing at my hotel (The Renaissance) and going on a local tour.

I spent Cinco de Mayo in Cancun and it really wasn’t anything special because Cinco de Mayo is not really celebrated in Mexico, aside from in Puebla. Of course there was booze, booze and more booze flowing despite the holiday not being a big deal in Cancun.

While in Cancun, I visited Chichen Itza. Initially I stared to take the local bus there however I found a tour company that ended up charging me $50 per person for my friend and I, which included lunch and a stop at a local cenote. This was a steal because initially the tour was priced at $100 and we talked the agency down, way down! We were NOT willing to spend that type of money for one tour.

One thing I have learned from traveling is always negotiate the price upfront. There is always wiggle room, especially is you go somewhere during the slow season.

I like to collect souvenirs that I can use. I decided to get my birthday written in Aztec hieroglyphics, which I will frame.

Another victory lap! I visited a 7th Wonder of the Modern World.

Overall my trip to Mexico was amazing! I cannot wait to return! On to the next adventure! Mygrate with me!
