Tulum, Mexico
Mygrate with me! Today is my first day of blogging and I can’t me more excited to tell you guys all about my trip to Tulum, Mexico! Just for the record I am upset with myself that I had not made it to Tulum before now. Pictured above is a view from my window seat flying into Cancun, Mexico. After I landed the trip to Tulum was an hour and a half cab ride, which costs approximately $90. I really should have rented a car. Next time I will.
I stayed at Azulik for 3 days and it was great. Although there was no air conditioning, lights and only two power outlets, the gentle breeze from the Sky Villa was worth it.
It is the true definition of R&R and eco friendly!
Upon arrival to my hotel (Azulik), My friend and I were given a holistic cleanse of the mind, body and spirit.
We wanted a real Mayan experience and we got just that!
I arrived in Tulum just in time for Art With Me, a holistic art, music and culinary festival. There were interactive exhibits all over the beach.
How cool is this?
These days I bring a pair of flats with me when there is a lot of walking involved especially on uneven ground.
If you plan on traveling to Azulik I recommend bringing a pair because the entire floor at the resort in made of tree branches and it’s extremely hard to walk on.
3 days until my 34th birthday.
I strongly recommend making a reservation at Tseen Ja prior to arrival. I made mine on Open Table prior to arrival.
Dinner at Tseen Ja was amazing!
I had the Ramen noodles.
I also had the beef which the server prepared on a hot stone in front of me.

Lately I have been shooting with the Sony Alpha 6000.
For years I have been saying that I am going to put together a collection of vacation pieces. I decided to start off by dedicating it to my university.

I fell in love with the Glyph earrings. They were constructed in Mexico and inspired by hieroglyphics which are commonly found in various parts of the world such as Mexico and Egypt. There are two pairs available in the boutique.
I actually made it to the gym.
The Jungle Gym is the coolest gym I have ever visited.
It is literally out of the Flintstones.
I visited the Ic Lab to the grand opening Alchemistry.
The museum is amazing. It is full of twists and turns with unique art pieces.
There is a no shoe policy, which is why I don’t have on any shoes.
The spa was everything from the rose water foot bath upon entrance to the high tea served afterwards.

There are so many ways to become inspired. Mine normally consist of a no makeup and big hair beach day.
I love the texture in the netting.
The Aztec sun earrings constructed by the Mayan people. The inspiration derives from the sun that shines over Chichen Itza.

One of the things I love about Tulum is that ALL of the food is really good. I didn’t have one bad meal.

Beach day!
I decided to participate with the culinary part of Art With Me. On the last day (pictured) there is a huge Mayan dinner on the beach! It is one of the best experiences I have ever had!

Hotel guest receive complimentary entrance and a glass of champagne. There is also a live Dj and a full bar.
The fee is $35 for non hotel guest.

Tulum was great to say the least! I kicked it…literally!
